Course Content
Abdominal ultrasound is a very useful, non-invasive diagnostic imaging modality, widely used in the evaluation of the small animal abdomen. This basic abdominal ultrasound day is aimed at vets with minimal or no ultrasound experience, and those who would like a refresher of the basics.
The course will start with a brief review of the ultrasound physics relevant to practical scanning and a discussion of ultrasound ‘knobology’, with the aim of helping you get the most out of your ultrasound machine.
We will then review FAST scanning, followed by the scanning technique, normal ultrasound appearance and the appearance of commonly encountered pathology of the liver and spleen, and the scanning technique and normal ultrasound appearance of the uro-genital and gastro-intestinal tracts.
The day will be comprised of several short lectures, interspersed with longer practical sessions, allowing you to get as much hands-on scanning as possible.
Refreshments: Lunch provided and Barista style coffee and other hot drinks made to order throughout the day!

Thoroughly enjoyed the course! The refreshments were fantastic and all the practical scanning experience was the best part.
