Dentistry: Anaesthesia Considerations

This free Veterinary Webinar is produced by Eastcott Referrals with Andrew Perry (BVSc Dip EVDC MRCVS EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Dentistry).

In this webinar recording Andrew Perry discusses anaesthetic considerations in dental patients, from the dentists point of view.

He considers the following key points: that dental disease is more common in geriatric patients, dentals often involve a prolonged anaesthetic, the possibility of bacteraemia, the presence of chronic pain/disease, frequent repositioning, tracheal rupture risk, and aspiration risk.

We hear more about how to manage the risk of hypothermia and hypotension, and Perry’s approach to analgesia and regional anaesthesia.
