Even when cats, dogs or horses are responding well to medical management of their symptoms Dr Bourgeois argues that they should still be referred for allergy testing.
Immunotherapy is the only treatment we have that aims to tackle the root cause of the problem, has the capacity to stop progression of the disease, and can reduce dependency on long term medication.
